From my experience as a head chef on yachts travelling the world, to regularly feeding 160 people at the Soup Kitchen London charity, and crafting bespoke meals for clients and events, I bring a wealth of culinary expertise to everything I do. I’m Lauren, a private chef and recipe developer, passionate about creating delicious, wholesome meals. I’ve been cooking since I was 19, and my culinary journey has taken me around the world—from South Africa, where I grew up, to New York and Tokyo, where I studied, to travelling far and wide on private yachts for 12 years, cooking for UHNW guests before finally settling in London. My travels have taken me to incredible places like French Polynesia, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia, where I’ve tasted local dishes and learned from visiting vibrant markets.

Asian cuisine is close to my heart—and I especially love to honour my Malay heritage, which I often incorporate into my cooking and menu design. I also enjoy working closely with local suppliers to craft tailored menus that celebrate seasonal, organic and sustainably sourced produce.

Back in London, I worked as a private chef in a private home before launching my own business in 2018. Since then, I’ve catered bespoke events and cooked for royals and celebrities. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I managed the kitchen and food production at the Soup Kitchen London, where myself and a team of wonderful volunteers cooked for over 160 people daily using rescued and surplus food donated from charities. I care deeply about food poverty and continue to volunteer, cooking for night shelters run by the C4 Homeless charity each winter. It’s my belief that everyone should have access to great food, no matter their situation.
